Breast Augmentation: Is Stem Cell Augmentation The Answer?

Breast alterations are huge in the United States and in other countries. For those women that feel against putting foreign objects in to their bodies, there is a procedure that uses your own stem cells to enlarge your breasts.

Many women want implants in their breasts. There are many reasons, from health conditions that have changed the appearance of your breasts to cosmetic desires. Most women who want them all share the same desire: confidence. However, many are not comfortable with putting foreign objects in to their bodies. The risks are higher and some women just feel put-off by the idea.

There is another option that is rising in fame. It is called stem call augmentation. This procedure is being heralded as a natural solution. The way it works is this: stem cells are extracted from areas with excess fat, such as the stomach or the thighs. These are combined with fat that has already been pulled, and then injected in to the boobs. From here, the cells grow which increases cup size.

You may be asking, why transfer the stem cells instead of just the fat? Well, a problem with traditional fat transfer is that it is difficult to get blood flow to the area. Stem cells encourage blood vessel growth which helps ensure that the procedure will go smoothly.

The benefits of this are that you will not be putting a foreign object in to your body that can leak or tear or require replacement. You will also achieve a natural look and feel. You will boost your cup size while reducing fat in other areas of your body. For many women, this may seem like a dream come true. Some cons are that while your volume will be increased, your will not get a lift or added firmness as this is not what it is designed for.

Currently, this method is being used on cancer patients who have had mastectomies or other patients with medical conditions that have caused the breast to be misshapen. It is not yet approved for cosmetic usage as it needs to be studied more. Another worry with it being done for cosmetic reasons is that women won't be coming in for check-ups and follow-up appointments. Women who have an injury or illness are constantly being checked on, and since this is a fairly new method, it is important to get frequent check-ups.This procedure is not for women who want a dramatically different cup size, but is for women who want a modest increase in size.

As with any procedure it is important and necessary to talk with your doctor and a licensed surgeon with experience and references. This may be something for you to consider, and a doctor will help you to make that decision.
