Home security is a big deal.
Not only do most of us keep our most valuable possessions in our homes, but we keep our sense of security in them as well.
Most people know that the number one way to keep your home safe is by installing an alarm system.
They act as great deterrents, and will go a long way in keeping your home safe.
They are also fairly expensive.
So are there ways to protect your home that do not cost an arm and a leg, yet still act as a great deterrent to thieves? You bet there are.
The Quickest, Easiest, and Cheapest Way to Protect Your Home Burglars enter the house through to main entry points, the door and the windows.
The majority of home break ins occur when a burglar gains entry via a window - keep the windows secure and you cut down on your chance of a break in significantly.
So how do you keep your windows secure without installing a costly alarm system? Easy.
Most all windows open and close within a track.
The easiest and cheapest way to deter a break in is by cutting a piece of 1/2 inch doweling (wooden pole) to the same length as the track when your window is closed.
You simply lay the piece of dowel lengthwise in the track of the window and even if the burglar was able to get the lock pried open they will not be able to get the window to slide.
For about $1 you just cut down your chance of a break in significantly! Hope you find this tip helpful and put it to use in your own home.
Nothing will give you total security like an alarm, but while you are saving up for one this little trick can give you that extra sense of security and nearly eliminate break-ins.
