24 Hours in Sedona: Where to Eat, Stay, and Hike
Check in at L’Auberge and a Muddle
It was time to check in at the resort where I’d be spending the night. L’Auberge de Sedona is one of the most highly acclaimed resorts in the area, and is nestled down by the creek, below the main drag in Uptown Sedona. One can walk to may shops, restaurants and tour depots from this resort. What room was I assigned? A Creekside cabin! I guess they knew I was a water person (see my psychic reading, above).
Our happy hour hosts engaged us with a mixology activity. The bartender gave us the ingredients and had us create an adult beverage, made from ice, compressed strawberries, gin made by the resort staff from local juniper berries, lemon juice, agave syrup, egg whites, Chambord, a splash of soda water and a sprig of rosemary. I’m not sure he thought we’d be such poor students. I think we had our problems started with the ice! It was fun, and the drinks were delicious. The drink’s name? We don’t know. It was an original creation! As a reward for following directions, I relaxed for a while at the creek sipping, before dinner.

Dinner at L’Auberge
L’Auberge Restaurant on Oak Creek is La’Auberge de Sedona Resort’s highly acclaimed dining spot. Although it was a cool evening, it would take a lot for me to pass up dining outside, alongside the creek.
Yes, again, I am now a confirmed water person. Heaters were provided. Our dinner was a multi-course feast of expertly prepared and presented delightful dishes. Seasonal selections and availability of locally sourced ingredients means that the menu may be continually changing, but you can be assured that it will be special.
You won’t want to rush through a dinner at L’Auberge. Savor the food, and enjoy your dinner conversation with your companion(s) for the evening.
After Dinner: Relax and Sleep
It’s been a busy day, and it’s time to relax at my cabin after dinner. The room here is spacious and there is not only a desk with chair to catch up on some emails and notes, but also a comfy chair for reading or watching a movie. A glass of wine on the deck overlooking the creek, and then inside to start the fireplace. Complimentary use of robes and slippers -- your room may even have a Jacuzzi. When it was time for bed, I snuggled up in those plush linens.
