All About Adventure Racing

Spell Fun in two words.
Then definitely that would be Adventure Racing.
This is a sport suited for everyone; anyone is free to join even from the tested veteran to beginners or novices.
You just can't get away from this kind of sport.
This race is fitted for those who love outdoor quests, exploration, discovery, harmonious relationship with mates and most especially the adventure itself.
Generally speaking, adventure racing is a combination of two or more disciplines of endurance which includes orienteering if an orienteering map is used and navigation when a non orienteering map is utilized.
In the scope of navigation things such as mountain biking, cross-country running, climbing and paddling are included.
This race can be categorized into two.
These are sprint and expedition.
Sprints are completed in just a matter of hours while an expedition event have duration of almost 10 days and above.
Definitely, there is no dark period during races.
Regardless of the span or length of the race, competitors have the freedom when to rest.
This race requires teams to be of a particular size and to consist of both men and women.
But nowadays, races no longer limit the size of the team and may include single-sex divisions.
While classic races involve teams running, climbing, biking, trailing and paddling together to get to the next pit stop, new disciplines are continuously added to adventure racing.
As the modern day passes by, new innovations are being mixed up creating adventure racing more challenging and amusing.
One example of the newly mixed racing is the urban races which happened at summer's Quest Urban Adventure Race in Houston.
This comprised a scooter ride and subways with the standard sports added up.
No matter what the mixture is racing will continue to transcend and carry athletes of all levels to new heights.
Always remember that people especially athletes get pushed to limits they have never been to before.
