Crume's Monuments

    Monument Production

    • Crume's Monument carries several types of memorials that vary in size and shape. Its largest monuments are statuettes with garden pillars or mausoleum-type structures. Headstone styles range from single person monuments to family grave markers. The company also manufactures marker stones, sometimes called plaques, which are flat or slanted tablets that take the place of a more traditional headstone. Crume's monuments are available in granite and marble of multiple shades and bronze. Its headstones can also use a combination of stone and bronze, which are not available through most other monument dealers. Crume's also produces vases that can be added to a monument. Vases are carved separately.

    Urn Production

    • Crume's also offers a selection of urns. The urns are available in multiple materials, some of which can be placed in the ground, and some of which are decorated so they can be displayed in the home. Cremation urns are available in all the same materials as markers and headstones as well as additional metals like stainless steel. Like all of Crume's other products, the urns are handcrafted and can be personalized by Crume's design artists to meet the needs of the family.

    Monument Personalization

    • Because all of Crume's monuments are carved at its facility, it can offer highly specialized and personalized engraving. Diamond and laser etching specialists can transfer a portrait or photograph that the family provides onto a headstone. Many designs can even be refined by artists to include color. Sample photos at its website show an urn with a colored American flag and family photos transferred onto tombstones in full color. In-house letter carvers can carve not only the deceased's name, birth and death date information, but can also carve nicknames and wedding anniversaries. Many families also choose to include the name of the deceased parents and children on the back of the tombstone. Some tombstones created by Crume's can also be carved to included Bible verses or lines of poetry significant to the deceased and their family.

    Company Profile

    • As of 2010, Crume's employed engravers and artisans who specialize in monument etching and work to complete highly specific monuments. The company does between $1 and $2 of business per year, and operates from a single facility in Caneyville, Kentucky, according to its website. The company offers a perpetual warranty on its memorial products, which guarantees customer satisfaction for years after the completion of the stonework. What is covered by the warranty varies from product to product, and by the level of warranty purchased by the family.
