Removing Silicone Glue From a Shower

    • 1). Wash the area around the silicone glue with a surface cleaner and paper towels.

    • 2). Use a plastic scraper to scrape off as much of the silicone glue as possible. Using a plastic scraper rather than a metal one reduces the risk of gouging your shower surface.

    • 3). Put on thick rubber gloves to protect your skin.

    • 4). Soak the remaining silicone glue in a solvent designed for silicone for five minutes. If the glue is on a vertical surface, soak a rag in the solvent, and hold it against the glue for five minutes.

    • 5). Scrape the remaining glue gently with a sharp razor blade, keeping it as parallel to the surface as possible to minimize the risk of damage.

    • 6). Repeat the solvent and razor blade process as needed until the glue is gone.

    • 7). Rinse the area with water to remove all traces of the solvent.
