The Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles was jam packed for a night of powerful performances, soulful duets and beautiful choirs. Appropriately titled "Ten Years, Faithfully Yours," in honor of the show's 10(th) anniversary. Although the song by Marvin Sapp "He Saw The Best In Me" was the favorite of the night, Celebration of Gospel featured breathtaking performances and spoken word segments by both mainstream and gospel greats including Anthony Hamilton and his wife Tarsha Hamilton singing "Better" also highlighted the night. As well as Fantasia and her mother Diane Barrino Barber performing "He's Done Enough", and The Rance Allen Group performing a very lovely rendition of "Something About the Name Jesus." It was truly a treat to the eyes and ears.
The lovely song by Marvin Sapp, "He Saw The Best In Me" was an inspirational number with lyrics that spoke of how God notices the best in us in spite of what others may see. He has released this song proceeding two years of 'Never Would Have Made It'.
An excerpt from Marvin Sapp's song: 'He Saw The Best In Me' Lyrics:
"He saw the best in me, when every one else around me, only saw the worst in me. He's mine, and I'm his and it doesn't matter what I did, he only sees me for who I am". Such touching words like this were prevelent throughout the night touching many hearts of many people. I personally believe that it was a night that anyone could have enjoyed. From Buddhist to hindu and all the way to Taoists, this night had beautiful words I think that almost anyone could appreciate.
Christian music has evolved alot over the years and Marvin Sapp is just one of the spiritual artists who are setting a new trend for the 2000's and beyond.
