Harmful Items to Keep Away From Your Dog
Dogs are like children, they don't understand wrong from right and they don't understand that some things that taste delicious can make them extremely sick or even worse kill them.
Here's a simple list of items to keep away from your dog.
-Grapes and Raisins: These seemingly harmless items should not be given to your dog.
Even if your dog consumes a small dose, it can be lethal as the acid in the grapes causes acute renal (kidney) failure and may cause death.
If your dog vomits up grapes or raisins, immediately seek help as that is the first sign of a potential problem.
-Onions: Onions are toxic to dogs.
There is a chemical in onions that attack the Heinz bodies on their red blood cells and cause anemia.
This vegetable is harmful in all of its states: frozen, raw, cooked or dehydrated...
even onion powder is toxic.
And the worst part is that the effects don't set in for a couple of days, so often times pet parents don't put 2 and 2 together.
Regardless, keep onions away from your dogs!! -Garlic: Same results as with Onion, keep this away from your dog! -Tomatoes and Tomato Plants: Can cause drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, paralysis, heart arrhythmia's.
These things are triggered by the tomatine and atropine found in tomatoes that disagree with a dogs internal organs.
