Start your Adobe After Effects application and open your project by clicking the File menu, clicking "Open Project", navigating to your project file and clicking "Open."

Create a new composition by clicking the "Composition" menu, clicking "New Composition" and clicking the "OK" button. Alternatively, press "Ctrl+N" to open the "New Composition" window. This new composition will store the combination of your other compositions.

Click and drag the name of the first composition you want to combine in the "Project" panel down into the "Timeline" panel for the new composition. The "Timeline" panel is in the lower left corner of the screen.

Click and drag the second composition down into the "Timeline" panel for the new composition. The compositions are now combined. Each of the compositions you added now appear as layers in the new nested composition.
