How to Make Dial Up Faster With Tweaks
- 1). Click the "Start" icon at the bottom left corner of the desktop. Select "Control Panel" and click "Phone and Modem." Click the "Modems" tab and highlight the modem that is currently installed on your computer. Right-click and select "Properties."
- 2). Locate "Maximum port speed" in the "General" tab and set it to "115,200." Click on the "Advanced" tab and check "use FIFO buffers" in "Advanced port settings." Slide both bars to the far right.
