Trip from Mysore to Bangalore
Before planning a trip to Mysore to Bangalore one should have the proper information about the place as it gives you excellent experience to explore the place in a better way. Mysore is the second largest town in the state of Karnataka, India. The headquarters of the Mysore region and the Mysore division and lies approximately 146 km southwest of Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka. The name Mysore is an anglicised version of Mahishuru, that is known by abode of Mahisha. Mahisha stands for Mahishasura, a demon from Hindu mythology. The town is spread across an area of 128.42 km2 and is placed at the base of the Chamundi Hills.

Mysore is situated between the rivers Kaveri and Kabini, which are a source of drinking water to the city. The Mysore Airport provides flights from Bangalore and Chennai through Kingfisher Airlines. The three railway lines of Mysore Railway Station that link it to the cities of Bangalore, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar.
The first railway line established in the city was the Bangalore-Mysore Junction metre gauge line that was commissioned in 1882. However, all railway lines that serve the city are single track ones, which obstruct quicker connectivity to the town. However, Bangalore–Mysore track, the project is yet to be completed. Indian Railways operate all trains that link to Mysore and the fastest train to serve the city is the Shatabdi Express. The new Railway Project will recover the development prospects of Mysore.
The high traffic State Highway 17, which links Mysore to Bangalore, was, in 2006, upgraded to a four-lane highway, which has decreased the travel time between the two cities. A project was planned in 1994 to construct a new expressway to link the cities of Bangalore and Mysore.
The total distance of a trip from Mysore to Bangalore is about 140 kilometers. The approximately travelling time is 3 hours from Mysore to royally Bangalore. One can also select road or rail connectivity however there is also availability of airways service from Mysore to Bangalore. Though talking about the road connection one can either opt for the public transport or drive all the way to Bangalore. Bangalore – Mysore Infrastructure Corridor is known by NICE road is a 4 to 6 lane private tolled expressway that links the two significant towns of Bengaluru and Mysore in the Indian state of Karnataka. This is being constructed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) chaired by Ashok Kheny on Build-Own-Operate-Transfer basis.
