How to Edit a Pet's Pictures
- 1). Get into edit mode. In programs like Photoshop, edit mode is a given. On other programs, like iPhoto, go to the gallery and choose the photo you want to edit. Click on it to enlarge. Pick an option called “Fix” along the top menu.
- 2). Choose the crop option, which usually looks like a square. A box will appear on the photo which you can resize by clicking on its borders and dragging to the appropriate placement. Unclick to hold that placement. Save it by clicking on “Apply.” Save by hitting an arrow to move to the next photo.
- 3). Kill the red eye. Many programs have an option called “Red Eye” that you can click to get a little wand. Move the wand with the mouse and place directly above the red eye. Click and a brownish hue will be placed over the red.
- 4). Auto adjust. Click on this option to automatically adjust the exposure and color of the photo. This may be all the editing you need in that category. If not, you can play with the controls manually.
- 5). Play with the exposure and color. Click on either option to get a series of sliders that you can move to make the photo lighter, darker, brighter, dimmer or infused with different colors. Play around with them until you get a look you like then hit “Apply” if that’s an option. Hit the arrow to the next photo to save.
- 6). Remove any clutter. Clutter is anything like an electric cord, weed patch, fence post or anything else in the photo that distracts from the main focus. You can remove clutter with a specialized program, such as PhotoShop, that has a paintbrush option. Choose the paintbrush and the color you want painted, usually the same color or a little lighter than the background. Clicking on the color palette and then on the background will automatically find the color you need. Click the mouse and drag it over the clutter you want erased. Save by going to “File” and “Save.”
