The Standard Features of the 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT

    Drivetrain

    • In 2007, Dodge installed a 3.8-liter, 12-valve V-6 as the only available engine for its Grand Caravan SXT. This engine had a 3.78-inch bore and a 3.43-inch stroke, with a compression ratio of 9.6-to-1. It used a sequential electronic fuel injection system. The SXT's 3.8-liter V-6 produced 200 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm. Dodge coupled this engine in the SXT to a four-speed automatic transmission. A 2007 Grand Caravan SXT earned 18 mpg during city driving and 25 mpg on the highways.

    Safety

    • Dodge equipped each 2007 Grand Caravan SXT with power steering and traction control, as well as antilock disc brakes on all four wheels. The company installed a driver and front passenger airbag as standard features; the front passenger airbag had an "occupancy sensor" that kept the airbag from deploying in a crash if the sensor didn't detect a passenger. Each Grand Caravan SXT also featured a knee-level airbag and height-adjustable seat belts for the driver and front passenger's bucket seats. Dodge offered curtain airbags as an option for all three rows of seating. Security features included child-safety locks on the rear doors, a panic alarm and an ignition disabler. Dodge equipped the body of each SXT with side-impact bars.

    Exterior

    • The 2007 Grand Caravan SXT had four doors: a driver and passenger front door, a rear gate that lifted up and a power side cargo door that slid back. Both the driver and passenger side featured power, heated mirrors. Dodge equipped the steel-body exterior with a roof rack, a rear step-bumper and matching colored door handles, bumpers and front grille. All four wheels took size P215/65SR16.0 tires on 16-inch rims, with a full-sized spare included as standard.

    Seating

    • The 2007 Grand Caravan SXT featured three rows of seating, for a maximum capacity of seven passengers. A driver and front passenger rode in adjustable bucket power seats, while the rear of the SXT contained two cloth-covered benches for seating. Both of these benches utilized Dodge's "Stow 'n Go" seating, which let owners fold down the seats into the floor for up to 167.9 cubic feet of cargo space. Each of these benches offered arm rests and adjustable head restraints. Dodge offered leather seating and heated front bucket seats as options. Each of the front bucket seats featured a back-mounted pocket for storage.

    Comfort

    • Dodge equipped each 2007 Grand Caravan SXT with dual-zone front and rear air conditioning. The standard tilt-steering wheel offered controls for cruise control. Other convenience features included power door locks and windows, power rear window, illuminated, auto-locking door locks and automatically-tinting rear mirror. Each SXT came with remote keyless entry and an included programmable garage door transmitter. An SXT's interior offered front and rear cup holders and storage in a glove box compartment, an overhead console and front door bins.

    Entertainment

    • In 2007, each Grand Caravan SXT came equipped with an AM/FM stereo with cassette and an in-dash CD player. This system played audio through the standard six-speakers. A driver controlled the volume, seek/search and other functions via a set of controls mounted on the steering wheel. Dodge offered a number of upgrades to this standard system, including a Sirius satellite radio, multi-disc changer and up to 10 speakers with an amplifier. The company also offered an optional navigation system. Passengers plugged devices into one of the three standard 12-volt DC power outlets.
