How to Lace a Hobie 16 Trampoline
- 1). Slide one trampoline panel halfway into the flared sidebar track on one side, oriented so the grommets run down the center and across the back. Make sure the hiking straps are on top and the leading edge of the trampoline is even with the forward crossbar.
- 2). Insert the leading edge of the trampoline into the front crossbar track at the corner and slide it toward the center.
- 3). Repeat the two previous steps with the other trampoline panel on the opposite side.
- 4). Feed the bead of the aft lacing strip into the track in the aft crossbar, beginning at either end. Pull the lacing strip across the length of the aft crossbar and make sure it is centered.
- 5). Tie each aft lacing line to its corresponding aft corner casting.
- 6). Tie the center lacing line to the forward grommet on the left, or port, trampoline panel. Lace the line back and forth between the two trampoline panels, moving from the forward grommet to the aft grommet. Take up slack as you go. Temporarily tie the line off at the aft grommet.
- 7). Lace the two aft lacing lines back and forth between the grommets in the aft edge of each trampoline panel and the grommets in the aft lacing strip, moving from the outsides toward the center. Temporarily tie off each lacing line at the center grommet.
- 8). Work through all laces again, taking up as much slack as possible. Untie, tighten and re-tie the ends of each lacing line at its attachment point to tighten the trampoline as much as possible.
