How to Get Rid of Water in Your Ear Naturally

    Instructions

    • 1). Smack the water out of your ear using the ketchup bottle method. Tilt the water-filled ear toward the ground and smack your other ear as you would a ketchup bottle. Do this several times or until the water has been dislodged. You can also try jumping up and down or combining the two methods.

    • 2). Using a dropper or pipette, pour a few drops of water into the affected ear as your face the ear toward the ceiling. Quickly turn your head the other way so the affected ear is now facing the ground. The water you poured in should help collect the water trapped inside and allow all of the water to drain. Repeat a few times until the stagnant water inside the ear is removed.

    • 3). Use a hair dryer to dry up the stagnant water inside the ear. Start at a low temperature and increase gradually if the water is not drying up. Be careful not to burn your ear and to keep the hair dryer a considerable distance from your skin.

    • 4). Place a few drops of white vinegar in the ear to avoid infection. Leave the vinegar in the ear for about five minutes and then drain. This is a good home remedy for swimmer's ear.

    • 5). You can also try placing some baby oil in the ear to free up the water. This works well to prevent getting water in the ears in the future, as it prevents the water from draining out the natural protective oils within the ear.
