It is the end of April 2013 and the UK has just experienced its first sunny day of the year. Even though it is still a little nippy, we know that summer is just around the corner. This means it is time to turn our attention once more to our gardens. We need to get them spruced up and ready for the BBQs, the relaxing Sunday afternoons, the parties, and kids.

Get the Grass, Flowers and Shrubs in Order
The first thing that you need to do is get your garden looking plush and well cared for. If you don't have one, get a lawnmower and start by mowing the lawn. If you have brown patches or patches where the grass simply won't grow, then you can do one of two things:
1. Buy grass seed
2. Buy lawn from the garden centre
It is important that you start this process now, so that by the time June and July arrive you have a healthy looking lawn.
Those of you who do not have lawns may have gravel, decking, or patio. If this is the case, then make sure that they are clean. If there are weeds, then pull them up and lay down some weed killer. If they are dirty, then hire a power jet cleaner (you can often hire these from your local garden centre or DIY store) to get rid of any dirt.
