Pizza in Oneonta, NY - Where to Find the Best Pizza in Oneonta
Oneonta, NY may not seem like a place to find some of the best pizza in the world, but it is! Why? Well, it's not all that far from New York City (I don't care what LA or Chicago has to say - NY is the capital of American pizza - and it gives Italy a run for its money!) and it has the same water source as NYC.
That's right - one of the reasons NYC has the best pizza, is because of the water.
The watershed for NY is one of the purest unfiltered water supplies in the world.
Oneonta shares the same watershed as New York.
Many of the pizzerias in Oneonta were either founded by or are run by folks from the city, and many of those folks are of Italian descent, or were actually born in the old country.
One more thing - a great percentage of the students that attend the colleges in Oneonta are from NYC, and they keep the pizza business here on its toes.

It's a perennial business for a college town.
Many people don't know this, but the in the native Iroquois language, the word "Oneonta" means "City of Pizza and Beer.
" (That's true - I made it up.

As far as which one's best - it's hard to say, but I never met a pizza I didn't like.
