Learning Spanish? How to cross the void.

What is the main difference between someone who speaks Spanish fluently and someone trying to learn the language?...

A confident speaker of Spanish thinks in Spanish. Hearing this, you might feel as though it's impossible, but it's not as hard as you may think.

Many people reading this article will think that it's very easy for me to say, as I am a native Spanish speaker- I've been thinking in Spanish for as long as I have been thinking. But there was a point where I had to learn English also. Often, this can get a little confusing complicated; it's not easy for me to find the perfect word in English when I am bothered or excited, and many times I am literally lost for words when I am conversing in English and trying my absolute hardest to get the right expression..

It's unfortunate that many people think that age is a big handbrake when it comes to learning a new language. This is simply not true! No matter what age you are, humans have the ability to learn many languages. Learning to speak Spanish will not always be smooth sailing, but remember the trick of trying to think in Spanish, it works and makes things a lot easier. It's a great feeling being able to process words in Spanish and start to see formation.

Have you been in a situation where you had a Spanish word pop into your head? Have you met someone you know in the street and thought to yourself 'Hola' instead of Hello?

It's surprisingly a great sign when this happens.

Let Spanish become part of your life. Take it on yourself to comment in your mind in Spanish as you go about your day.

We have conversations with ourselves all day long.Even if you don't have the chance to talk to others in Spanish, you can certainly speak to yourself in it. If you can, try not to translate from one language to another.
