How Do I Unprotect a WMV File?
- 1). Download DRM Remover Tunebite Platinum on to your hard drive (see References). Follow the step-by-step configuration wizard that will walk you through the steps for installation.
- 2). Choose your output audio and video format preferences.
- 3). Open the Tunebite interface and click on the "Add" button and select the files from which you wish to remove the DRM protection. You can also drag and drop the WMV files into the convert files window.
- 4). Once the process is complete, the files can also be burned to a DVD.

- 2). Uninstall Windows Media Player 11 (if that is the version you have installed). To delete, go to the "Start" button, scroll to "Control Panel" and select "Add/Remove Programs." Restart your computer.
- 3). Search your computer's "C" drive in "Documents and Settings" to see if you have a folder called DRM. If you do have a DRM folder, delete it.
- 4). Download and install Windows Media Player 10 or Media Player 11(Beta 2). Once installation is complete, restart your computer.
- 5). Open FairUse4WM. Click the "Recovery" key and add the files whose DRM you want to remove. Select the directory where you want your unprotected WMV files saved.
