What Kinds of Sicknesses Can Sims Have in "The Sims 3"?

    Morning Sickness

    • A pregnant Sim will always get morning sickness during the first trimester. At random intervals during the trimester, the pregnant Sim will get the nauseous moodlet and vomit after a while. There is no cure for morning sickness other than waiting for the pregnancy to progress.

    Food Poisoning

    • If a Sim manages to eat spoiled or burnt food, he will experience symptoms of food poisoning. The same will happen if a vegetarian Sim eats meat. Food poisoning causes the nauseous moodlet and forces the Sim to vomit after a few hours. Food poisoning requires plenty of rest to cure, so an afflicted Sim should skip school or work and spend the day resting in order to recover.

    Tiberium Poisoning

    • Tiberium rocks were introduced in the "Sims 3: World Adventures" add-on pack. If a Sim keeps a Tiberium rock in his inventory, he will eventually gain the nauseous moodlet and begin to vomit at regular intervals. Removing the Tiberium rock from the inventory will immediately cure the poisoning.

    Plasma Sickness

    • "Sims 3: Late Night" adds vampires and plasma-based items to the game. If a non-vampire Sim, or a vampire Sim who happens to be a vegetarian, drinks or eats any plasma products, she will become nauseous and vomit two hours later. Plasma sickness will go away on its own after the Sim vomits.

    Curse

    • Sims in "Sims 3: World Adventures" may have an encounter with a mummy during excursions. If the Sim gets attacked and is defeated by a mummy, he will become cursed. If the Sim does not rid himself of the curse within two weeks, he will die. There are several ways to remove the curse. The easiest is to have the Sim meditate alone. The curse will lift after a few hours.

    Plague

    • Introduced in "Sims 3: Medieval," plague is potentially fatal if left untreated long enough. The affliction goes through multiple levels of severity before becoming outright plague. The first stage is sickness, followed by infection, disease and finally plague. Each level of the plague adds an increasingly debilitating drop in mood. Each level can be cured by visiting a physician or using a curative tonic possessing enough strength.
