- 1). Remove the screw holding the faucet handle in place. Use a flathead screwdriver. If you cannot see the screw, carefully pry the cover off the end of the handle and the screw will be underneath it. Unscrew it and set it aside.
- 2). Pull the faucet handle up and off the faucet assembly. Scoop some plumber's grease onto one finger and run it along the threads inside the faucet handle. Run a finger full of grease on the exposed threads of the faucet assembly.
- 3). Replace the faucet handle over the assembly. Put the screw back in place and screw it in tightly. Replace the cover, if you removed one.
