How Can I Get a Prepaid Credit Card to Send to My Fiance in Another Country?

    • 1). Use a service such as iKobo or ePay that allows you to send a prepaid card via mail or courier service to your loved one overseas. Load money onto the card when it runs low via the Internet. You are restricted in the particular card you purchase if you choose to use one of these services, however, as each service offers only a limited number of cards for purchase.

    • 2). Purchase a prepaid card online or in a store. Look for cards with low fees. Overseas ATMs can charge high fees for getting cash from a prepaid card such as 1 to 2 percent of the transaction amount, and currency conversion charges exist as well. Some will waive fees if you use direct deposit from recurring payments--paycheck or Social Security payments, for example--to reload the card. This might not be the best situation when if you want to make a one-time prepaid credit card gift to your loved one.

    • 3). Send the card directly to your fiancé if it is possible to send the card directly to an international address. If not, have the card sent to you, then send the card yourself using a fast delivery service to ensure the card gets to your fiancé as quickly as possible.
