Reasons for Being Tired All the Time & Nauseous
- Fatigue is not simply tiredness or the need to sleep; rather, it is a lack of energy that is often accompanied by apathy or drowsiness.
- Fatigue can be caused by allergies, anemia, sleep disorders, depression, thyroid gland problems, anorexia, cancer, diabetes and malnutrition.
- Nausea can have a wide variety of causes, including viral infections, migraine headaches, motion sickness, food poisoning, food allergies and peptic ulcers.
- If you are nauseous or vomiting, drink small amounts of clear liquids and eat small amounts of bland foods such as crackers. If you are experiencing fatigue, try to eat, sleep and exercise on a regular schedule. Do not rely on caffeine; this can worsen fatigue.
- If you are confused or dizzy; experiencing blurred vision; not urinating; vomiting blood or bile; or have a stiff neck, seek immediate medical attention.
- Prevent fatigue by consistently sleeping enough, eating a balanced diet, staying hydrated, exercising regularly, avoiding drug use, reducing the stress in your life, and taking a multivitamin.
