How to Send Domestic Online Wire Transfers

    Sending a wire transfer

    • 1). Go to your bank's website and login to your account. Enter your username and password on the login page to begin.

    • 2). Locate the link on your account page that allows you to send money. Each bank is different so the link you need to find is different, but each bank has a selection for wire transfers available on your account page.

    • 3). Enter the amount you want to wire from your bank to another. You must provide the name of the bank you want to wire funds to, the receiving bank account number and the bank's routing number. Include the receiver's name.

    • 4). Confirm your wire request is correct and submit it to your bank. There is a fee for sending a wire transfer, which varies from bank to bank. In addition, the recipient of your wire transfer might incur a fee to receive an incoming wire -- not all banks charge a fee for incoming wires.
