What Are the Most Fun Games to Play?
- A round of this game begins when one player states that he is a person, place or thing. Other players ask yes-no questions in order to narrow down the possibilities, such as, "Are you famous?" and "Are you edible?" until the answer is reached. There is no time limit or penalty for wrong answers, and the difficulty can be adjusted according to the age group of the players; a simpler clue can be chosen to begin the round, and hints can be given if necessary. The person who guesses the correct answer chooses the clue for the next round.
- This game is well suited for school trips or other extended car rides with peers; families tend to make a less amusing audience, as they are less likely to be fooled. One person makes three claims about herself. These can be anything from hidden talents to childhood fears and anything in between, but one must be false while the other two are true. Other players then guess which of the three statements is a lie. The person whose turn it is can reveal the truth, and someone else takes a turn.
- Indulge your group's creativity with this game. Have one person begin with "Once upon a time," which the next member in the circle follows with the rest of the sentence. Continue around the circle with each person adding his own sentence, sometimes pulling the story in a completely different direction. If the group is older, this can become a memory game as well as a storytelling event. The first person chooses just one word and rather than simply adding on, the second person repeats the first word and adds his own. As play continues around the circle, each player repeats all the previous words and adds his own to create a story.
- Each round of this game must have a topic, such as countries. The first player names any country in order to begin, but each subsequent player must name a country which begins with the last letter of the previous country. For example, if the first person chose "Egypt," the second person's answer must begin with "T." The round continues until someone repeats a name or can't come up with one. Other topics could be celebrities, band names or foods.
