Difference Between Ripsticks & Wave Boards

Ripstik and Wave Board: General Similarities

    • Both are, essentially, different brands of the same product. The Ripstik and Wave Board both feature two wheels, and they both are made of hard plastic fitted around a torsion bar. Unlike skateboards, moving forward does not require a foot to leave the board.

    Slight Differences

    • The Wave Board has slighly smaller wheels, by exactly one millimeter. Also, Ripstik caster boards have longer torsion bars. The differences are largely cosmetic in how the plastic grip is molded, and how color is applied to the boards.

    History

    • Ripstiks are made by Razor, which also produces kick scooters. Much of Razor's visibility, as a company, comes from already having one successful product. Wave Boards come from a much smaller company, but have the historical distinction of being the first producers of caster boards.
