How to Use Car Sites
- 1). Search for new cars. Using a site such as Autotrader.com or Edmunds.com, you can search for new cars within a specific zip code, or any other region you wish. You can search by make, model, even year and price range. There are simple instructions on each site, where you just need to enter a few key details about the car you wish to purchase and the site will immediately bring up your search results.
- 2). Search for used cars. If you already know what kind of car you're looking for, you can perform a search within a certain mileage of your home (for example, 100 miles). There are videos and multiple pictures available for these cars, as well as financing options and trade-in values, all without leaving the website.
- 3). Research cars. If you're not sure what type of car to purchase, you can select the research tab on these car buying sites. Here, you can choose a body type, price range, rating and many other criteria. This will allow you to make a knowledgeable purchase decision before you head off to the dealer and spend a lot of money on a car that has poor ratings.
- 4). Sell your old car. Car buying web sites are also great places to sell your used car. You pay a small listing fee and upload pictures of your car. There are even tools available to help you price your car correctly, based on its mileage and condition.
