- 1). Divide the nanofarad measurement by 1,000 to convert to an equivalent one in microfarads. For example, 35,000 nF divided by 1,000 converts to 35 µF.
- 2). Slide the decimal point three positions to the left to convert from nanofarads to microfarads; if the measurement lacks a decimal point, then place one to the left of the measurement's thousand's place, which is the fourth number from the right. For example, 20,000.5 nF becomes 20.0005 µF after moving the decimal three places to the left, and 20,000 nF becomes 20.000 or 20 µF.
- 3). Convert from nanograms to micrograms with an Internet tool. Input the number of nanofarads to the right of the "nanofarad" label; the microfarad measurement will appear below it. To convert from microfarads to nanofarads, type the number of microfarads into the space to the right of the "microfarad" label, and the nanofarad measurement will appear above it.
