How Can People Get to My Facebook Account From My Blog?

    Direct Link

    • The easiest way to guide readers to your Facebook is to post a direct link. Copy the URL of your Facebook Page or profile and paste it into the code of the contact page or other location with an HTML link tag. For example, you could enter "Check out our blog on Facebook!" as the text for the "a href" HTML tag.

    Custom Facebook Button

    • A custom Facebook button designed in Paint, Photoshop or GIMP can complement the flavor and layout of your blog, while providing an eye-catching link for your readers to access your Facebook. Search "Facebook button" in Google to see a set of examples. If you utilize Facebook's trademark "F" or the site's blue and white color scheme in the button, you will not need to write the entire "Facebook" phrase into the image. Alternatively, you could make a larger button that reads, for instance, "Follow us on Facebook!" with some relevant imagery to pop out the image on the page. Don't forget to include the URL as part of the image's code.

    Facebook Badges

    • Facebook offers badges for your Facebook Page or your personal profile. The badge is simply a string of code to be pasted into a location on your blog. You can also edit the badge to appear vertically, horizontally or in two columns. After the code has been saved to your blog, the badge appears with the Facebook logo, a thumbnail of the profile picture, your most recent status update and your current count of Facebook fans. You can choose to omit these details from the badge if you need a smaller widget.

    Selecting a Location

    • Regardless of your selection, the goal of these buttons and links is to help people find your Facebook account. You should select a location on your blog that will appear prominently and often. Don't overwhelm your readers with a Facebook link in every post, but try to include the link, badge or button in a section of the blog that appears on every page. For example, paste the code into the sidebar of your blog. Readers will see the link to Facebook every time they browse your blog, but it will not distract them from the content of your posts.
