A Smokers Digest
I started smoking when I was about 12 years old, my dad and I were fishing and he offered me a cig. I knew all the harmful effects from smoking, but I dont care. I wasn't worried about addiction, I mean honestly, how hard could it be to not spark up a cigarette? I never smoked to be cool, I smoked because I wanted to. While everyone else goes about thier lives, I take nine or ten breaks a day standing outside relaxing, smoking a cig. I did this until around 20, when I started spitting up blood in the morning, I decided to give it a shot to quit, like I said I didn't plan on doing this the rest of my life. I chewed the gum and wore the patch, no luck. I always quit for a while and ended up picking up a pack later in the week. I went to see my doctor, he put me on Wellbutrin he started me at 75mg a day, it worked well, I got over the 3 day hump no problem, it's also an anti depressant so my nervousness when I didn't have the cigarettes, went away as well.
I don't have insurance so I order from Meds4you.org I havn't had a problem ordering from them for two years.. It's alot cheaper than the patch and works a hell of a lot better. If I stopped taking my medication I wouldn't go back to smoking, but I enjoy the anti-deppresant effect.
If you're trying to quit, I highly recommend not wasting time with the patch, get a perscription to Wellbutrin, even if it's just for a month that should be enough to break the habit.
Interesting fact I read in my HEALTHY LIFESTYLES book: Apparently even people who start smoking as early as 15 and smoke a pack a day their entire lives run a 33% chance of having their lifetime shortened at all, and even of those, the majority are not shortened significantly.
Sucks if you're one of the few who gets lung cancer though.
