Three Spain Wonders You Probably Have Not Heard of

When someone mentions Spain, you probably instantly think of football, Barcelona, siesta, bullfights and if you are a bit younger, party in Ibiza. But did you ever hear about €hanging houses' in Cuenca, El Chorro, or vila de Los Caballeros? No? Here is a list of just a few Spain wonders you probably have not heard about.

Las Casas Colgadas- €Hanging houses' are one of the tourist attractions of the city Cuenca, a medieval town situated between Madrid and Valencia. Cuenca extends over a steep reef and a deep canyon made by two rivers. Las Casas Calgadas was built during the 15th century on the very edge of the reef. Wooden balconies of these houses seem to levitate over the deep river canyon.

El Caminito Del Ray is the most dangerous footpath holding on to the vertical cliffs of El Chorro near the city Malaga. This footpath was used for transport of materials between hydropower Chorro and Gaitanejo. The name El Caminito Del Ray (Footpath of the king) was given to it after king Alfonso XIII boldly walked over it in 1921. The path is 1 m wide and lies 100 m above the river. Because of missing handrails and concrete and due to its danger it is a hot spot for adrenaline junkies despite the ban notice.

Avila de Los Caballeros is a city in Spain county Castilla y Leon. It is situated about 1130 metres above the sea level. It is known for its medieval walls which are the most conserved walls in all of Spain.
