How to Install the Google Toolbar 5 for Firefox
- 1). Open your Firefox Browser and go to the official Google Toolbar 5 for Firefox page (see Resources below). Go to the left side of the page and click on the blue "download" button.
- 2). Read the Terms of Service and then click "Agree and Install." A window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to install the add-on. Click on the "Ok" button and wait for the download to finish.
- 3). Restart Firefox. You can either do this by clicking the restart button in the add-on menu, or by closing your browser and opening it back up.
- 4). Set information gathering preferences. When Firefox opens back up, you will see several dialogue boxes informing you about various information gathering functions of the Google Toolbar, and how to disable them. If you are okay with your browsing habits being available to Google, then you can just close these messages. However, if you want to opt-out, follow the prompts.
- 5). Customize links and gadgets. Click on the block icon for link and gadget suggestions. Some of these will be added automatically, while others will require additional installed components.
