How to Use a DCR-DVD610 Webcam
- 1). Insert the DCR-DVD610 installation CD that you received with the handycam into the CD drive on your computer.
- 2). Follow the steps on the screen during the installation process to install the DCR-DVD601's drivers onto your computer.
- 3). Open your Internet browser. Visit a website such as idealshareware.com and download the webcam software for your camcorder (see Resources). Open the downloaded installer and select a location to install the program. Click "Next" to install the program.
- 4). Locate the FireWire connection port on your DVD610 --- the large rectangular port found on the rear of the camcorder. Connect the FireWire connection of the adapted into the port on the camcorder. Connect the other end of the adapter into the USB port on the side of a laptop or at the rear of a tower unit.
- 5). Turn on your DVD 601 handycam and select the "Record" mode. Click on the "Start" menu and "All Programs." Select the installed webcam program. This will now display your Sony DCR-DVD610 as a webcam.
