First of all, the area gets crowded. Two major neighborhood arteries, Fifth and Seventh Avenues, are partially blocked off for the parade. Expect street closures and re-routings. Second, street parking is always tough to find in Park Slope — even on normal evenings.
If you want to drop off your child and another adult, you might want to let them walk a few blocks to the route of the festivities, or risk getting caught in a frustrating traffic jam.
If you do drive, be prepared to park at some distance from the parade route.
But if you want to do the whole walk, the parade starts at 14th Street and Seventh Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Note: If you haven't been to this event for a few years, be forewarned that the route changed. The Halloween parade used to go all the way down Seventh Avenue almost to Flatbush Avenue. The new and improved route includes Fifth Avenue, so the parade now only goes on Seventh Avenue from 14th to Third Streets. You could be standing on the corner of Garfield Place and Seventh Avenue all night, and the parade will never come that way!

4. Directions to Go Home After the Park Slope Halloween Parade
The parade ends at the Old Stone House (See photo here. Public transportation is the best way to get home.By subway:
- Closest: Get the F or the R trains at Fourth Avenue and 9th Street, or the R at Union Street and Fourth Avenue.
- Walkable, but a hike: The 2,3 at Grand Army Plaza, or the Q, B at Seventh Avenue stop off of Flatbush Avenue.
- Also possible: Catch a bus going down Fifth Avenue to Flatbush Avenue (cross the street from the Old Stone House), and then catch the 2,3 trains at Bergen Street and Flatbush Avenue, or continue onto Atlantic Avenue Station where you can catch almost any subway train in the NYC system. The bus ride to Bergen Street will take about 10 minutes, and the ride to Atlantic Avenue Station will take about 20 minutes, at most.
