Definition:
During his career, well-known jazz drummer and band leader Art Blakey played with such artists as Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie.
Like so many of his era, Mr. Blakey was a cigarette smoker. He died of lung cancer on Oct. 16, 1990, in New York City, when he was 71 years old.
