Marine Life

• Redang Island has white sand beaches and clear blue waters. Hundreds of varieties of fish and coral can be found in the waters surrounding Redang Island. Due to the abundance of marine life in Pulau Redang, the area has been declared a marine park and it is illegal to fish or collect marine life on Redang Island.
  
  

Tourism

• Redang Island is a popular area for tourists, who come to enjoy the island's beaches, swimming and snorkeling. A number of hotels and resorts can be found on the island.
  
  

Sea Turtles

• It is common for sea turtles to nest on Redang Island, but with the over-utilization of turtle eggs their numbers have dwindled over the years. In 2005, three beaches on Redang Island were declared a turtle sanctuary as part of the island's sea turtle conservation efforts.
