2012 Christian Supply Choral Festival
Spartanburg, South Carolina will once again be the host city for one of the largest and most extensive choral events in the country. The 2012 Christian Supply Choral Festival is scheduled for August 2-4. The conference venue will be the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, located at 250 E. Main Street. The church has extensive facilities for worship, fellowship, and group seminars. While in Spartanburg, festival attendees should allow time to visit the Christian Supply retail store, located at 1600 John B. White Sr. Blvd. The retail location carries a large inventory of Christian books, music, Bibles, church supplies, and gift items.
The Choral Festival is an ideal conference for church music staff members. Specialized workshops, concerts, and cantata premiers will equip music leaders with new music and fresh ideas to take back to their congregations. Festival staff from all over the country will lead more than 40 workshops at this year's event.
Festival attendees that are able to arrive in town early will be treated to a bonus night on August 1. The conference will kick off with a special concert by Grammy Award winning contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Laura Story. The Spartanburg native will be performing many of her favorite songs including her hit "Blessings," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. Story will be joined by the 150 member choir and orchestra from First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. The concert will be open to the community, but conference attendees will have first choice of seating.Other special musical guests at the festival will include gospel quartet Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, who will perform on opening evening. Charles Billingsley and the Adult Choir & Orchestra from Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia will perform on the last evening. Featured conference speakers will include Adrian Despres, Jonathan Falwell, Marty Parks, David Dean, and Joe Castillo.A selection of more than 40 specialized workshops will be available to festival attendees. Workshops will cover topics as diverse as blended worship services, children's musicals, storytelling, drama, church instrumentalists, rehearsal techniques, and software solutions for music ministry needs. These workshop sessions are sure to motivate church music leaders and inspire them with new ideas.A full registration of $355 for the festival includes all workshops, concerts, cantata premiers, reading sessions, five meals, and a complete library of more than $700 in choral music. Additional attendees from the same church may register as associates for $295. The associate registration does not include the choral music library. Churches are limited to a maximum of six registrants.
