How to Use UTM Tracking
- 1). Log in to the administrator account on your computer.
- 2). Click on "Download" once you have located the page containing the appropriate version of Urchin.
- 3). Double-click on the Urchin desktop icon and follow the screen instruction to install it.
- 4). Open your Web browser.
- 5). Type directly into the URL line: "http://localhost:port_number." Note that "port number" will be either 9999 or the number you chose during installation.
- 6). Click on "Obtain Demo License" when the Urchin License wizard box opens and follow the onscreen prompts.
- 7). When the license wizard automatically opens the Urchin administration dialog box, follow those onscreen prompts to set up initial configuration parameters.
- 1). Click on the "Start" button from your desktop.
- 2). Click "Control Panel."
- 3). Click on "Internet Options."
- 4). Uncheck the box beside "Delete Browsing History on Exit." This will enable the cookies functions of your Internet use.
- 1). Click on the "Start" button from your desktop.
- 2). Click on "Programs."
- 3). Click on "Urchin."
- 4). Click on "Enable Service" from the pop-up menu. This will enable the use of two installed data management programs: Urchin Task Scheduler and Urchin Webserver.
- 5). Open your browser to access your website data reports.
- 6). In the URL line, type: http://yourhost:portnumber. "Yourhost" will be the name of the system into which Urchin was installed. "Portnumber" is either 9999 or the specific port number you selected for the Urchin webserver during installation.
- 7). If accessing data reports by remote location, type "admin" for the username, and "urchin" for the password. These are the default settings.
