Menopause Jekyll Or Hyde

Menopause. The Change!

That phrase evokes images of nightmarish symptoms; hot flashes, cold chills, alligator skin, loss of memory and fits of manic moods. One moment you're as sweet as candy and the next you are a frenzied manic who is going off the deep end.

I recall it vividly. Once while shopping I forgot where I parked my car. I cried. I finally found it. Once I went to the store and I sat in my car for half an hour and cried because I couldn't remember what I had gone shopping for. And those horrible hot flashes! I have news for you, they don't last for only a flash, they last all day long! I felt them start from the tips of my fingers and they crawled up my arms and out the top of my head. Horrible. Folks would look at me and shy away saying things like oh oh, she's having one of those' and scurry away. Oh and my favorite, my Boss would use she is having a woman thing'. Say what! Anyway I got through the change' by seeing my doctor and getting on HRT.

It's not for everyone.

1) You are more likely to develop breast cancer
2) Some of the side effects are; bleeding, nausea, fluid retention

There are hormones that are natural, you may want to try
Tranquilizers or anti-depressants

My book, "Quest for forgiveness" is based on my personal experience with menopause and its affects on life. Including; judgment, sound decisions, mood changes and perceptions. Poor decisions are often made during this period in a woman's life. It's at this point that my romance novels were inspired. My book is fiction, but based on the factual reality of menopause.

Future articles on menopause will include:

part 1 The change' Jekyll or Hyde
part 2 Eat healthy & exercise
part 3 Take up a hobby
part 4 Fan the flames of romance with your husband
