3D TV at CES - The Latest in Electronics
3D TV at CES showcased the latest in electronic products for consumers and was held in Las Vegas.
CES is one of the best places to see the latest technology for 3 dimensions, though many of these products may not actually be marketed or are extremely expensive.
Some of the 3 dimensional technology being offered include Blu-ray, active and passive 3 dimension, 3 dimension formats, DirecTV 3D, no glasses 3 dimension and 3D display devices.
3D is the latest in TV technology and 2010 will show the birth of the first products with many being available at the end of the year.
3D has proven to be great for the movie industry as 3D tickets are more expensive and people keep coming back.
However the TV industry does not expect the same type of revenues as the movie industry as 3D is only being used at the most top end products.
Much of the reason that 3D TVs are high end is because of the shutter technology involved making them very high cost.
Interestingly enough most of the market research show that the 3D TVS are not better because they use 3D technology bit because the picture technology and quality is much better.
Along with 3D TVS the TV providers will need to show 3 dimensional formats.
However to do this they will need to use the cable and satellite lines in place which support lower resolution.
Some TVS are being marketed as able to take 2D TV and show it as 3 dimensional which may be the key to bringing this new technology to your home.
What may be the problem with 3 dimensional is getting enough bandwidth in order to view images in HD and 3D.
Many producers are showing that HDMI can be upgraded to implement 3D so this combination of software and hardware may make it easier for people to watch TV in 3 dimensions than before.
