Anti Aging Vitamins - Combat the Signs of Aging

As the years pass, signs of aging appear.

Skin biopsies done on the test subjects revealed that the vitamin increased production of two components found in the skin, procollagen and glycosaminoglycan.
Procollagen is what provides strength and elasticity in skin.
Glycosaminoglycan draws moisture into the skin, relieving dryness and plumping up the skin.
Vitamin A also increases the rate of skin replacement.
This makes it an excellent tool for reducing the appearance of scars.
Studies have also shown that the vitamin works to protect skin from the damaging effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
When skin is exposed to UV rays without some form of protection, it can lead to premature aging and skin cancer.
According to Japanese researchers, Vitamin C can significantly slow down the aging process.
In their study, e-published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, animal subjects were given an enzyme that synthesizes the vitamin.
The control subjects were not given the enzyme.
After six months of observation, all of the animals with the enzyme were still living.
The same could not be said of the control group.
The control group aged four times faster than the enzyme group.
Other research has indicated that those with diets low in Vitamin C are at increased risk of wrinkles and drying skin.
As an antioxidant, the vitamin helps deactivate free radicals, which can set off a reaction which leads to cell damage.
Damaged skin cells have reduced elasticity and moisture.
Vitamin E is a well-known anti-aging vitamin.
It rejuvenates the body, speeding up the replacement of new skin.
This replacement results in clear, brilliant skin that is typically found in youth.
It is also an antioxidant, acting in a similar fashion to Vitamin C to protect against cell damage.
Scientists have likened the effects of free radicals to that of rust on a car.
In a study completed at the University of Florida, researchers found that when older patients exercised regularly and supplemented with Vitamin E, levels of a blood marker that signals cell destruction were decreased.
Another study in Italy found that seniors with higher levels of the vitamin in their blood had milder declines in physical function associated with age.
While no one can completely stop the march of Father Time, there are ways to retain youth longer.
