- 1). Download Mozilla Thunderbird (see "Resources").
- 2). Locate your download on your PC and double click it to begin the installation process. Follow the self-explanatory instructions for installing Thunderbird. Leave defaults set as they are.
- 3). Open Thunderbird using either the desktop icon or via the "Start" menu once the installation has completed.
- 4). Click "Tools" and select "Import" from the dropdown menu.
- 5). Select "Mail" in the dialog box that pops up and click "Next" at the bottom. Select "Outlook" in the next dialog box and click "Import" at the bottom of the window.
- 6). Locate the newly imported mail files in Thunderbird. They are located at "Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/ Thunderbird/Profiles/.default folder/Mail." Right click on each non MSF file located here individually and add .mbox to the file name.
