Adding Exercise to Your Life is Easy
These days its more important than ever to make sure that we are living a healthier lifestyle.
This is because our way of life has become even more unhealthy than it has ever been.
Our lives are hectic and fast paced, we barley have time to breathe, and think little on taking the time that we need to in order to ensure that we are doing the things that we should to stay healthy.
For most people in the modern society, exercise is limited to the walk across the parking lot or the run down the hallway when late to a meeting.
Our idea of healthy eating is leaving the cheese of the quarter-pounder, and our idea of stress reduction is looking forward to when the boss goes to the golf course for the afternoon.
The simple fact is that the way that we are living is killing us one day at a time.
So what can we do to change this path and get back the time that is being stolen from our lives? One way that we can reverse the effects of our unhealthy ways of living is simply to start including exercise in our daily life.
When we talk about including exercise in our lives, this doesn't mean that we all have to run to the YMCA and sign up for an aerobics class.
You do not have to go to extremes to get a little exercise in your life, in fact it's easier than you may think to add thirty minutes a day of exercise to your life.
One way that you can add a few minutes of exercise to your day is to take the stairs instead of the elevator.
If you don't think that this is something that you can't do because of your physical condition, try starting out by only going up three floors and then catch the elevator, in a few weeks, work up to five floors and so on till you are no longer depending on the elevator to get between floors at all.
Another option is to park on the top of a garage or on the lowest floor if it's under your building and walk to the main level to enter the building.
This method of deliberately going out of your way will add up to a few thousand more steps a day without even knowing it.
When it comes time for lunch, go get your own order instead of sending the secretary to do it for you, and walk to the diner or cafe to pick it up instead of taking the car or catching a trolley.
If you feel that you just can't be away from work for this period of time, rearrange your days schedule to take your lunch a little earlier than everyone else, or a little later and use the walk as a great chance to catch up on phone calls with your smart-phone.
These may seem like small changes but they will all add up to a big increase in the amount of moving you do in your day.
No one ever said that exercise has to always include sweating and loud music.
The idea is to just get your body moving, your heart pumping, and your lungs filled with air.
Good luck and have fun! With a little creativity, you can easily add exercise to your life and never even realize that you did.
