- 1). Construct a drawing of the backsplash and kitchen on graph paper. Include locations of electrical outlets and appliances. Use a measuring tape to determine the measurements. Take this information with you when ordering the stainless steel backsplash.
- 2). Turn off the power to the kitchen by flipping the switch on the electrical box. Unscrew all switch plate covers so you can work around them.
- 3). Wipe the wall surface clean before you install the backsplash, making sure all dirt or debris is removed.
- 4). Spread an adhesive to the backside of the stainless steel backsplash with a putty knife. Evenly apply the adhesive.
- 5). Hold the stainless steel backsplash against the wall and push it in place. Make sure to hold the backsplash in place for a few minutes until the adhesive sets.
- 6). Apply a thin bead of caulk with a caulking gun around the stainless steel backsplash to seal it. Make sure to caulk between the backsplash and counter.
