Push-Up Power

Do you remember the last time you attempted a push-up?If you do, you probably thought how hard this simple exercise was.
If you're like most people you prefer to do a bench press instead.
The bench press may be the best chest building exercise but you'll get more from your workout when performing push-ups.
And yet we hardily see people doing them.
Push vs Press The push-up forces the body to use more muscles than the bench press and still allows you to hit the chest, shoulders, and triceps.
Plus it requires the core to engage for spinal support.
The bench press on the other hand only focuses on the chest, shoulders and triceps.
You may be able to build more muscle but the core and shoulder stabilizing muscles will become weaker due to the support of the bench.
Cost Effective The push-up not only works more muscles, there is no equipment needed.
They can be performed anywhere and there are plenty of different variations that can be applied for some added variety.
The bench press will require a bench, a bar and weights.
The cost adds up, unless you workout at a gym and then you're still paying for a membership.
For the money and the benefits, the push-up is a superior exercise when compared to the bench press.
The Perfect Push-Up
  1. One needs to maintain a straight body position.
  2. Keeping the head in-line with the spine.
  3. Hands shoulder width apart and shoulders in a neutral position.
  4. The core should be engage while the hips are in neutral.
  5. Next lower your body as low as possible while maintaining good form.
  6. Return to starting position.
Tip:Remember quality of quantity!
