How to Program a Magnavox VCR Recorder With an RCA Converter
- 1). Cut power to all involved electrical devices before proceeding with your cable connections.
- 2). Connect the coaxial cable coming from your TV antenna to the RF In nodule, labeled "Antenna In," on the back of your RCA converter box.
- 3). Use an independent coaxial cable to connect the RF Out nodule on your RCA converter box (which may be labeled "Output to TV") to the RF In nodule on the back of your Magnavox VCR.
- 4). Screw one end of your remaining coaxial cable into the RF Out nodule on your Magnavox VCR. Connect the other end of this cable to the RF In nodule on the back of your television set.
- 5). Set the channel switch on the back of your Magnavox VCR to channel 3. Set the channel switch on the back of your RCA converter box to channel 3. Turn on your VCR, TV, and RCA converter box. Tune both the TV and VCR to channel 3.
- 6). Press "Menu" on your RCA converter's remote control. Select "Settings." Select "Channel Scan" in order to program your RCA converter box to pick up your local TV channels.
- 1). Insert a VHS tape into the tape compartment on your VCR. If you're recording to a VCR tape that already has some programming on it, make sure the safety tab (on the front left-side of the cassette) is in tact before you insert the tape. Cue your tape to the spot where you want you're recording to begin.
- 2). Push "Menu" on your Magnavox remote. Select the "Program" menu option. Your Magnavox VCR is capable of storing up to eight scheduled recordings. Enter the number (1 through 8) you want to designate for this schedule recording. Choose how often you'd like your scheduled recording to take place---Once, Daily, or Weekly.
- 3). Use the arrow buttons on your remote to set your recording Channel (set to channel "03"); the Start Time, indicating when you'd like the VCR to automatically begin recording; End Time, indicating when you'd like the VCR to automatically stop recording; the Date you want your recording to take place; and the Recording Speed. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons to adjust your settings, and the right and left arrow buttons to move from field to field.
- 4). Press "Clear" on your Magnavox VCR remote to save and preview your timer settings. If your Magnavox remote does not have a button labeled "Clear," press "Menu." Press the "VCR Power" button on your remote. If you're Magnavox remote does not have a "VCR Power" button, press the "Power" button on your remote. Your VCR will shut off and you should see the red Timer light lit in the display.
- 5). Set your RCA converter box to the TV channel scheduled to air the program you're recording. You can turn your TV off (if you wish) but leave your converter box turned on.
