What Is Righteousness?
We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! Jesus Christ is our Righteousness! Righteousness is about a position, a position in grace before God.
It has nothing to do with our failures, doubts and sin consciousness.
We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.
We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.
(Isaiah 64:6) What is the Righteousness of Faith? The Righteousness of faith is accepting that God can do what we can't do! Look at Abraham, he was fully convinced that God was able to perform what He has promised, he did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness.
" (Rom 4:20-22) Abraham was convinced that God could and would do what He has promised! Abraham has faith in God! And God did what he had promised Abraham, Sarah had the promised son, Abraham and his seed were blessed! The Righteousness of Faith is like the garment the father gave to the prodigal son, allowing us to approach God, to receive the fullness of what God has planned and purposed for us.
Under the Old Covenant, because of sin and man's unrighteousness, It was impossible to enter into God's Holy presence, approaching God and His presence meant death, because man could not stand in God's glory! But now, under the New Covenant, through what Jesus had done for us on the cross, approaching God brings life to us! I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, (Isaiah 61:10) Let God's grace do for you what He has already done, and all these things will be added unto you.
You are the righteousness of God in Christ! God wants you to take your rightful position, and walk in the fullness of His blessing!
