How do I Configure Exchange ActiveSync on a Smartphone?

    Enabling Exchange ActiveSync

    • 1). Add your Exchange account by tapping "Settings," then "Mail," then "Add Account," then "Microsoft Exchange."

    • 2). Enter your account information on the next screen. If you do not know your domain, try leaving the field blank, or ask your server administrator.

    • 3). The iPhone/iPod will attempt to find the email server's address via auto discovery. If this fails, it will prompt you for the server address; enter it now.

    • 4). Enter which types of data you would like to sync: mail, contacts, and calendar. Remember, if you choose to sync contacts and/or calendar, any current contact and calendar information on your device will be overwritten.

    Enabling Exchange ActiveSync

    • 1). Open the "Applications Drawer" and touch the "Email" icon. Enter your email address and password, and select this if it will be your default email account. Touch "Next."

    • 2). Touch "Exchange Account," then enter your account information. If everything is configured correctly, the Account Options screen will appear, allowing you to adjust your sync settings.

    • 3). Name the account and enter the name you wish to be displayed on outgoing messages, then touch "Done."
