Liquors that Contain the Most Alcohol
- These liquors can be quite dangerous consumed in even small amounts. Be sure to mix properly and not to drink them straight. Too much alcohol can result in illness or even death. Before serving, ensure you know your country's laws regarding alcohol consumption and make sure none of your patrons is underage. Finally, these liquids are flammable so be careful near sparks and flames.
- A pure grain alcohol, Everclear is the strongest alcohol available in the United States. Many states have banned the sale of the most potent variety of Everclear, which is 190 proof, or 95 percent alcohol. If you cannot purchase Everclear at its strongest, then you might be able to find the 151 proof version, which is 75.5 percent alcohol.
- Devil's Springs vodka is 160 proof, or 80 percent alcohol by volume. The distributors suggest making your own flavored vodka with it. Choose a fruit and soak it in Devil's Springs to flavor the vodka, then dilute the solution with water to make a more normal-proofed drink.
- Bacardi 151 rum is 151 proof rum. Although the weakest on this list, with an alcohol content of 75.5 percent, it is still very potent. Used in many flaming beverages famous in bars and on TV shows, the rum can make for an excellent mix. A variety of drinks call for the over-proof rum although it is banned in many countries due to its high alcohol content. In the United States the rum is not banned in any state and is quite popular because of the Bacardi name, which advertises its brands of alcoholic beverages and liquors throughout the country.
