The Miraculous Story of an Evangelist
In life some mysterious events do occur which we sometimes find difficult to explain.
Many have encountered situations which can't be explained only to resort to supernatural explanation that it is only God that could have done such things.
I am an avid believer in the existence of God and I also believe that He can do all things in the lives of those who believes in Him.
The story I want to share with everyone out there is meant to boost their belief that in whatever situation they find themselves in life, they should not lose hope but instead remain focused and be steadfast in prayer until help comes.
In the seventies when I was in my teens, my father told me the story of an evangelist who lived not quite far from my home then.
My family lived at Ijesatedo while the evangelist lived at Lawanson.
The evangelist was a preacher of the Word who goes from one place to the other preaching the word.
He was a middle aged man probably in his early fifties at the time of this story.
He was not employed though he had a small shop where he sells groceries and other things.
He usually wakes up very early in the morning to preach at bus stops, market places and hospitals.
He does this five times a week except on occasions when he wasn't too okay health wise to do so.
What amazed me most was that whenever this evangelist was returning home from his preaching work some one will reach out to him to give him N200.
00 which was a big sum of money then.
This was his daily allowance from God for preaching the word.
Throughout the period he preached the word in my area, my father said, the token allowance of two hundred naira never failed and it was given to him by different persons on a daily basis.
The only time the money did not come was when he was sick and hence unable to do the work.
One day, the man became very sick and could not go for his preaching work for about three months.
At the hospital where he was being treated, the doctors said he was suffering from exhaustion and high blood pressure.
He was advised to make it a point duty to rest often and to always take his drugs.
A few days later, he was rushed back to the hospital almost at the point of death for the same ailment as a result of which he was admitted for extensive treatment.
It was on the morning of his second day at the hospital that he had an encounter with God.
It was explained that while on the hospital bed,seven men in white apparel came to visit him.
They told him that they had been sent to pray for him.
They then held hands surrounding the sick evangelist while the prayer lasted.
After the prayer, the evangelist woke up to discover that his ailment had vanished.
He was therefore discharged the next day after he was certified fully okay.
The hospital staff could not explain how the man's sickness vanished with the hypertension disappearing and exhaustion being nullified from his body.
As he was thanking God for His faithfulness, report reached him that his first daughter who had been married for ten years without a child had given birth to twins.
He therefore had a double joy, One, was his return to a good state of health and an ultimate gift of twins through his daughter.
What a wonderful way God works.
